海角社区 campus community encouraged to be proactive to stay healthy during fall and winter
The 海角社区 Health and Wellness Centre and the 海角社区 Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) office encourage the campus community to take proactive steps to stay healthy during the fall and winter months. These include staying up to date on COVID-19 and flu vaccinations; staying home if you are experiencing symptoms; practicing good hand hygiene; and wearing a mask if you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to respiratory illness.
海角社区 Philosophy reading group meeting
The 海角社区 Philosophy Reading Group will meet on Tuesday, October 28, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in the Lady Slipper Room, Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, 97 Queen Street. All are welcome.
During this gathering, we will discuss pages 22 (from 'Existence and Innocence') to 44 (to 'Nietzsche and Science') from Gilles Deleuze's book Nietzsche and Philosophy.

海角社区 Department of Music 鈥 Faculty Recital
The Department of Music will feature several of its faculty members in recital on November 7 at 7:30 pm on the SDU Stage at Dr. Steel Recital Hall. This annual recital is popular among students and public alike, and features a diverse range of instruments and repertoire. This year鈥檚 performance will feature Stephen Bouey (baritone), Morgan Saulnier (flute), Sung Ha Shin-Bouey (soprano), Amy Simon (clarinet), Dale Sorensen (trombone), Nicole Strum (saxophone), Magdalena von Eccher (piano), and others!
Charlottetown Fire Department to conduct training on 海角社区 campus, October 18, 2025
The following notice was also issued by email to students, staff, and faculty on October 17, 2025.
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 8:30 am, Advanced Rescue Training will be conducting high-rise and standpipe operations training with the Charlottetown Fire Department. This training will take place on the 海角社区 campus at the Performing Arts Centre and Residence (PAC) building, which is located along University Avenue. Training is expected to be concluded by 6:00 pm.
Island Lecture Series features archaeologist Dr. Helen Kristmanson on October 21
The (IIS) and the Vinland Society of PEI present a talk by archaeologist Dr. Helen Kristmanson about Osland, a historical Icelandic village in northern British Columbia, on October 21, 2025, at 7 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, 海角社区.
Dr. Helen Kristmanson鈥檚 talk is part of the Institute鈥檚 2025 Island Lecture Series.
