Federal government invests in resilience for Atlantic shellfish industry

海角社区 publishes new research magazine

海角社区鈥檚 new research magazine, , was officially launched at a celebration event held on the campus on Friday, September 26.

The full-colour magazine features the innovative and exciting research taking place at 海角社区. The inaugural issue focuses on research projects in 2024鈥�2025, ranging from a gene mutation linked with Parkinson鈥檚 disease to the impacts of working remotely on employees.

海角社区 marked National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with TRC Mawi鈥檕mi on October 3

海角社区 held a well-attended TRC Mawi鈥檕mi in the Quadrangle between Kelley Memorial Building and the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, from 10:00 am鈥�2:00 pm, on Friday, October 3.

The TRC Mawi鈥檕mi鈥攖he word for 鈥済athering鈥� in the Mi鈥檏maw language鈥攚as held to mark the 10th anniversary of the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission鈥檚 Final Reports along with 94 Calls to Action that guide Canada鈥檚 path toward reconciliation. 

Name that Building! Help choose a name for our new building

The 海角社区 is excited to be approaching completion of the new 140,000 square-foot building, which supports the 海角社区 Faculty of Medicine and medical learners in the regional campus of Memorial University鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine, as well as 海角社区 students in nursing, psychology, nutrition and dietetics, kinesiology, paramedicine, and other programs.

Free Meningitis B vaccine clinics for 海角社区 students starting September 2

The 海角社区 Health and Wellness Centre is offering free meningococcal B (Men-B) vaccinations to undergraduate students at the start of the school year at various locations on the campus.

Students must provide their PEI health card or proof of international insurance, and their student ID when they get their vaccine. There is no cost to them for the vaccine.

Students can book an appointment at the 海角社区 Health and Wellness Centre for their vaccination by emailing healthcentre@upei.ca. They can also get their vaccine at the following:

海角社区 students to collect batteries and electronic devices during Welcome Week

During 海角社区 Welcome Week from September 1鈥�5, 2025, students will take part in a collaborative initiative titled 鈥淏ecoming Sustainable Panthers.鈥� 

海角社区 will team up with Island Waste Management Corporation (IWMC), Call2Recycle Canada, and Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) to collect used batteries and small electronic devices to promote sustainability, help the environment, and provide a valuable service to the neighbouring community.
