Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, Professor and Associate Dean of the 海角社区 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been named one of 56 new Members of the prestigious Royal Society of Canada鈥檚 (RSC) College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.

A team of researchers from across Canada, led by Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, professor and interim associate dean of the 海角社区 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has received $6.93 million in federal funding to develop precision agriculture techniques to ensure food security and mitigate climate change.

海角社区 engineering student wins prestigious national scholarship
The 海角社区 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) congratulates Lilly O'Rielly for winning the prestigious C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship. She is one of two undergraduate engineering students in Canada to receive the renewable scholarship valued at $7,500 per year.

海角社区 increases support for graduate students through new fellowship program
海角社区鈥檚 Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is establishing a new fellowship program for incoming and existing graduate students in research thesis-based graduate programs.
鈥淐ompetitive financial support is an important factor in the recruitment and retention of graduate students at 海角社区,鈥� said Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president, academic and research. 鈥淕raduate assistantships and supervisor grant/contract funding provide a common form of graduate student support. In addition, graduate fellowships have a significant role.鈥�
Rathlyn Foundation donates $1M for entrance scholarships to 海角社区-based medical students
Beginning in the fall of 2025, the Rathlyn Foundation Entrance Scholarships for 海角社区 Medical Students will be granted to every 海角社区-based medical student in their first year of study. These $2,000 individual scholarships will be funded in perpetuity by an overall gift of $1,000,000 from the Rathlyn Foundation.

Dr. Mark Fast, professor of fish health and immunology at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 海角社区, is the recipient of the Aquaculture Association of Canada Research Award of Excellence.
海角社区 psychology students partner with junior and high school students on projects devoted to peace
Dr. Stacey MacKinnon, associate professor of psychology at 海角社区, hosted a celebration for 16 senior undergraduate students taking a special topics psychology of good and evil course, and international junior and senior high school students from the , the lab school for the Montessori Foundation, on Sunday, June 4, at the 海角社区 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation (CCCCA) in St. Peter鈥檚 Bay.
