Emma MacLean and Ben McFarlane named 海角社区 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, 海角社区 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 海角社区 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for September 30鈥揙ctober 5 are Emma MacLean (women鈥檚 rugby) and Ben McFarlane (men鈥檚 hockey).
MacLean is a fifth-year business student from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. She was unstoppable in the October 4 matchup against the Saint Mary鈥檚 University Huskies, scoring three tries in a dominant 72-0 win.

Researchers at the 海角社区 have been awarded over $1.7 million in federal funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

The 海角社区 Women鈥檚 Hockey Panthers are hungry for playoff success this year, and they have the determination and focus to get there.
Last year, they missed the playoffs by a single point, but that loss lit a fire under the team.
For head coach Sean Fisher, it reinforced both the team鈥檚 potential and the importance of consistent execution.
