Recognizing Remarkable Colleagues – August 2025, Issue 2
We are thrilled by the incredible response to the launch of Recognizing Remarkable Colleagues! In less than two weeks, we received over 30 heartfelt submissions—each one highlighting the generosity, dedication, and positivity that make our University such a special place.

AVC resident to present research at international surgery summit
This October, Dr. Yoko Nakamae, a large animal surgery resident at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the º£½ÇÉçÇø (º£½ÇÉçÇø), will travel to Seattle, Washington, to present her research at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) Surgery Summit, the premier surgical conference for veterinary professionals worldwide.
Rowan Gallagher and Isaac Sommerville named º£½ÇÉçÇø Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, º£½ÇÉçÇø Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The º£½ÇÉçÇø Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for September 8–15 are Rowan Gallagher (women’s rugby) and Isaac Sommerville (men’s soccer).
º£½ÇÉçÇø hosting events during Sexual Assault Awareness Week
This year, PEI’s annual Sexual Assault Awareness Week takes place from September 18 to 24, 2025. This is a dedicated time to raise awareness about sexual violence, to educate on sexual violence prevention, and to show compassion and offer support to survivors of sexual violence in our community.
To recognize this important week, the º£½ÇÉçÇø Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SV-PRO), the º£½ÇÉçÇø Student Union, and Robertson Library have organized a series of events on the º£½ÇÉçÇø campus.
º£½ÇÉçÇø Panthers this Week (September 15–21)
The º£½ÇÉçÇø field hockey, rugby, and cross country teams are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.

5:00 pm: The º£½ÇÉçÇø Women’s Soccer Panthers play the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women on the º£½ÇÉçÇø Artificial Turf Field.
7:30 pm: The º£½ÇÉçÇø Men’s Soccer Panthers play the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men on the º£½ÇÉçÇø Artificial Turf Field.
