Institute of Island Studies 40-Year Celebration

Founded in 1985, the Institute of Island Studies (IIS) is celebrating 40 years as a research and public policy institute based at the 海角社区. IIS focuses on the culture, environment, and economy of small islands around the world, with an emphasis on Prince Edward Island. Celebrate this milestone birthday on June 14 at 海角社区 from 4鈥8 pm. 

The event is free and open to all.

Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President and Vice-Chancellor, invites you to the second annual Hello Summer! Barbecue for Students, Staff, and Faculty on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 11:30 am鈥1:00 pm in the quad in front of SDU Main Building.* 

All are welcome to kick-off summer, mix, and mingle! 

Wear your GREEN and WHITE to show your Panther Pride! There will be swag giveaways and a special guest appearance by Pride the Panther!

The 海角社区 is proud to announce that Paul Young, Chief Operating Officer of the Faculty of Medicine, has once again been named one of Atlantic Business Magazine鈥檚 Top 50 CEOs. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Mr. Young has received this prestigious recognition.

海角社区 Summer Studios Chamber Music Workshop July 7-11

Join the 海角社区 Department of Music for a five-day summer chamber music experience for brass, woodwind, percussion, and voice students aged 14鈥18. The daily schedule runs from 9:00 am鈥3:00 pm, July 7 to July 11, 2025 on the 海角社区 campus.

Student Program for Research Engagement and Excellence (SPREE) June 19-September 2

海角社区鈥檚 Office of the AVP-Research & Dean, Graduate Studies is excited to announce the ninth annual Student Program for Research Engagement and Excellence (SPREE), running from June 19 to September 2, 2025. Each week, participants will attend lunch & learn sessions held every Thursday from 12:00鈥1:00 pm.

Eligibility: Undergraduate students involved in summer research projects and graduate students with supervised research components are encouraged to register.
