海角社区

海角社区 will celebrate over 1,200 graduates at Convocation ceremonies to be held from May 13 to 16, 2025, at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Each ceremony will start at 10:00 am and will be preceded by a procession of graduates across campus.

The Institute of Island Studies, 海角社区, will present a talk titled 鈥淭he 鈥榝amily farm鈥�: A keyword in Prince Edward Island land politics鈥� by Heidi Haering on May 20, at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building 201.

海角社区 Board of Governors Chair Shannon MacDonald and President Wendy Rodgers shared the Year 2 Implementation Plan for the 海角社区 Action Plan in a message emailed to 海角社区 students, staff and faculty on May 1, 2025.

Each year, the 海角社区 Co-operative Education Program recognizes its exceptional students and employers with the 海角社区 Co-op Awards. The winners of the 2024 awards were Rosie Legault, 海角社区 Science Co-op Student of the Year; Carol Edzeame, 海角社区 Arts Co-op Student of the Year; Diya Bubna, 海角社区 Business Co-op Student of the Year; and MRSB Group, Co-op Employer of the Year.

The 海角社区 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) showcased a wide range of innovative design projects in sustainable design engineering by its students at the annual Student Design Expo on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. 

Dr. Rhonda Hamilton, a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 海角社区 (海角社区), is the winner of the College鈥檚 2024 Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

Red Dress Day is a National Day of Awareness and Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Gender Diverse Peoples (MMIWG2S) that takes place on May 5. It is a day to remember, to learn, and to take action.

海角社区 is saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Lawson Drake, 海角社区 Founder, former dean of science, retired professor and founding chair of the Department of Biology, and Prince of Wales College alumnus on April 23, 2025, in Charlottetown. 

The fourth in this series of President's town halls in the 2025 winter semester, Let's 'talk' SDGs, will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025. For this town hall, there will be a broad introduction to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) along with a discussion on how they relate to 海角社区 and the work that we do. 

The 海角社区 will honour four outstanding leaders with honorary degrees during Convocation 2025, which will take place from May 13 to 16. Over 1,200 students are set to graduate over four ceremonies, which start at 10:00 am each day at the 海角社区 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.
