Kayla Batchilder and Robert Orr named 海角社区 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week
Every week, 海角社区 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 海角社区 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for October 13鈥�19 are Kayla Batchilder (women鈥檚 field hockey) and Robert Orr (men鈥檚 hockey).
Batchilder is a third-year kinesiology student from Charlottetown, PEI. She scored the third goal in the 3-0 championship-clinching win over the Dalhousie University Tigers on October 19. She was also named the Atlantic University Field Hockey (AUFH) MVP and a league all-star.
鈥淜ayla is an offensive threat who helped create numerous scoring opportunities in both the semifinal and championship games,鈥� said Lacey MacLauchlan, 海角社区 Field Hockey head coach. 鈥淪he played a key role in securing the championship win.鈥�
Orr is a second-year business student from Beaconsfield, Quebec. He scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over a tough Universit茅 de Moncton Aigles Bleus squad on October 17.
鈥淏obby has probably been our most consistent player through exhibition and the first few games of the regular season,鈥� said Forbes MacPherson, 海角社区 Men鈥檚 Hockey head coach. 鈥淗e is becoming a leader on the team both on and off the ice.鈥�
