Campus Notices

Ever wished you could go back to school for a master鈥檚 degree? Since you're already on campus, maybe the MAIS program is for you!

Please join us for an online information session Wednesday, July 23, at noon, to find out more.

The Master of Arts in Island Studies program is an interdisciplinary, policy-driven graduate program that critiques islands on their own terms. We offer both thesis and course-based streams with specializations in Island Tourism, Sustainable Island Communities, and International Relations and Island Public Policy. Graduates from this program are trained in providing leadership to address the nuances and complexity of living and working on an island. In order to accommodate working professionals, the program has been designed with flexible completion timelines and classes are usually in the evening.

The information session will include general information and guidance on completing your application. Attendees will be given a promo code to have their application fee waived ($50 CAD value) and 海角社区 employees are eligible for a tuition deposit waiver as well a partial waiver on tuition. The deadline for applying for the September intake has been extended to August 15; and the deadline for the January intake is November 1.

For more details on the program and entry requirements, visit the MAIS information page on the 海角社区 website. To register for the session, please follow the link to this

And if you have questions regarding the program or application, please contact Laurie Brinklow (brinklow@upei.ca) or call 902-894-2881. Please feel free to share this message with anyone who may be interested in joining the session.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you!

New in IslandScholar profile is an option for Scholars to indicate if they are or are not seeking graduate-level research students/trainees as research supervisors.

If you hold an IslandScholar profile, and are interested in updating that IslandScholar profile to indicate if you currently are or are not seeking research graduate students/trainees, read on for details on how.

Robertson Library and Grad Studies have developed a short primer on how to submit a request to add this to your IslandScholar profile, including preview views on how each selected status would display. Status options span: do not display (current default), no (not seeking student/trainees), and yes with the options for masters-level only, doctoral-level only, or both masters & doctoral level.

Primer:

Note - Requests for IslandScholar profile updates are completed manually, expect 2-3 business days before a change is implemented to a Scholar profile.

For questions about updating this option of the IslandScholar profile, contact: Keri McCaffrey, One Health and Scholarly Communications Librarian at knmccaffrey@upei.ca
