The Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking a sessional instructor to assist in the delivery of the following course to first-year veterinary students during the Fall 2025 semester.

This position is subject to final budgetary approval.


Professional Foundations I (VBS 1050):

This course introduces essential concepts that form the foundation of a veterinarian's professional life including development of a professional identity, the roles veterinarians play in society, and development of essential skills. These skills include reflective practice, self-awareness, communication, cultural competence, resilience, and well-being. Current trends in the veterinary profession are also addressed.

This position involves assisting in lectures and tutorials for first-year DVM students. Other responsibilities include assisting in designing and giving feedback on assessments.


Qualifications:

Applicant requirements include a DVM degree, or an advanced degree in a related field with experience in teaching professional skills. Experience with creation of web-based instructional materials would also be an asset.

Priority will be given to members of the 海角社区 Sessional Roster for the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
