Student Assistant - International Customized Programs Office - International Relations Office - Student Experience Hub
$16.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
September 1 – December 12, 2025
The International Customized Programs Office is seeking applications for one student assistant position. The International Customized Programs Office hosts international groups (high schools and universities) and Francophone students for short-term customized language programs. The student assistants are responsible for assisting with the planning and running the activities for the visiting students. The position will be part-time during the fall semester with the possibility of part-time hours during the winter semester.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting students and/or guests in a friendly manner, answering inquiries and directing people to the appropriate staff person
- Assisting with planning and running of the program’s socio-cultural activities
- Collaborating with the program staff to align activities with academic content
- Engaging with students during program activities
- Providing mentorship and academic support for the visiting students
- Performing other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have:
- Must be a current º£½ÇÉçÇø student
- Cross-cultural experience and familiarity with working in a post-secondary educational environment is a definite asset
- Experience organizing events
- Strong computer skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently and be willing to work occasional evenings and / or weekends
- A customer-service orientation
- Be comfortable engaging with students and guests from diverse backgrounds who have varying language proficiencies
- Ideally, the candidate is a second-year student
Priority will be given to º£½ÇÉçÇø students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
