January 12, 2026 - April 30, 2026
The 海角社区, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, has openings for sessional instructors for the Winter 2026 semester for the following course:
ENGN-1340 Engn Mechanics II: Dynamics
This course is a study of mechanics concerned with the state of motion of particles and rigid bodies that are subject to the action of forces and moments. The course considers the kinematics and kinetics of motion applied to particles and rigid bodies, particularly as it relates to engineering applications and design. Topics include rectilinear and curvilinear motions, rectangular, normal-tangential, and cylindrical coordinate systems, rotation about a fixed axis, general plane motion, dependent and relative motion, Newton's Laws of Motion, and energy and momentum methods. Three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week.
Qualifications:
Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A Master鈥檚 Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience, would be considered a strong asset. Candidates should be registered as a Professional Engineer on Prince Edward Island. Professional engineering experience is expected and will be an important consideration in the selection process.
Note: Members of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering鈥檚 Sessional Roster will be given priority in consideration for these positions.
Application Instructions:
Applications must include a cover letter and resume specifying academic qualifications, relevant teaching and professional experience and the contact info for three references.
