| Background: | The 海角社区 Women's group formed in 1971 as a social and support group for the then new 海角社区. The group identified the need for greater public promotion of the University and a need to augment existing scholarship funds. Thus began a series of campus tours for various Island Women's organizations and the highly successful annual scholarship fund fairs. By the end of 1984, "Dollars for Scholars" had raised close to $40,000 for 海角社区 Women's Group scholarships and bursaries. |
